Ways to Use a Tincture
Tinctures are a beautiful, concentrated way to invite the support of herbs into your daily life. From the soft embrace of heartful herbs to those with a little more bite and warmth, there are many ways to weave tinctures into your life
Sublingually (Under the Tongue)
One of the most effective ways to take a tincture is sublingually, placing a few drops directly under the tongue. This allows the plant extract to be absorbed through the soft tissues of the mouth. It’s a gentle, direct approach, often used when seeking fast integration into the body.
This can also become a moment of presence.
Pause. Take a breath. Notice how your body feels.
These small pauses can turn something simple into a grounding part of your day.
In a Warm Beverage
Another gentle way to take a tincture is by adding it to a warm drink. Warm water softens the taste and makes it an easy addition to your morning or evening ritual. Warm, not boiling water helps retain the herbs beneficial properties.
Personally, I love adding our Hawthorn Tincture to Cacao. Both Hawthorn and Cacao are heart-focused plants. Allies for the heart physically and emotionally making them a nourishing pair. Their synergy feels supportive, calming, and opens a space for tenderness.
When the Blend is Fiery — Immunity Booster
Some tinctures work a little differently.
Our Immunity Booster is crafted with warming, aromatic herbs. Think Mountain Pepperberry, Thyme, Garlic and Fennel. This blend is designed to target the throat, chest, and respiratory system, particularly when you feel something coming on.
For this one, we recommend taking a full dropper aiming toward the back of the throat. You’ll likely feel a gentle warmth, that’s the firey herbs at work. If you prefer a milder experience, you can add it to warm water to take the edge off without losing its depth.
Finding What Works for You
Tinctures are versatile and adaptable, listen to your body, notice how each herb feels for you, and let that guide your relationship with them.
If you’re unsure which tincture might be right for you or how best to use one, feel free to reach out. I’m always happy to chat herbs.
