Hello! I’m Cass, soul behind AKYN.
My path to this work was shaped by a curiosity for the ways nature can support us—not just physically, but in every aspect of our lives. The practices I share with you through AKYN stem from my path of self-discovery, balance, and connection to our earth.
My journey with plants began as a curiosity, which evolved into a daily practice of mindfulness and intention. Over time, I realised how much wisdom the earth offers when we slow down, listen, and connect to what’s naturally growing around us. I began foraging, crafting remedies, and finding peace in this intentional connection.
Each step of the process—whether it’s selecting plants, creating tinctures, or preparing balms—is done with a deep reverence for the earth. I approach every plant with gratitude, appreciating its unique qualities and how it can support our well-being, both internally and externally.
Through AKYN, I aim to inspire the same peace, presence, and clarity that these practices have brought to my life.
Elemental Herbalism: A Personal Connection to Nature
Elemental Herbalism is where my connection to nature deepens. In this practice, I view plants not just as physical allies but as expressions of the four elements: Fire, Earth, Air, and Water. Each plant embodies the energy of one or more of these elements, and in turn, has a way of aligning with different aspects of our own genetic makeup.
Herbalism is a path of connection. I believe that by working with the plants around us, we can strengthen our connection to both the natural world and our own bodies. Each plant carries a different energy, and when we use them mindfully, we invite their qualities into our lives. Whether it's the grounding power of Dandelion or the calming energy of Chamomile, these plants offer us support in the form of balance, nourishment, and alignment.
As I feel the seasons changing and the colder weather trickling into my life, I find myself turning to St John’s Wort. A herbal ally that feels like a warm hug from the inside out, this plant helps to lift the spirits, support emotional well-being, and promote relaxation. It’s especially helpful during times of transition or when facing seasonal shifts.
The practice is about more than just preparing tinctures or infusions. It’s engaging with the plants in a way that supports our overall well-being. When you choose to connect with a plant, you invite it into your life in a conscious way. I encourage you to explore the plants around you, listen to their stories, and find the ones that resonate with you most.

Zenthai Shiatsu: A Practice of Energy and Connection
Zenthai Shiatsu is a practice I hold deeply in my heart. It’s not just about touch; it’s understanding how energy moves within us and how we can create space for it to flow freely. Through Zenthai Shiatsu, I’ve learned that balance isn’t about fixed alignment, but about the dynamic flow between the body, mind, and spirit.
Each session invites you to slow down and reconnect with your body. As we move through the treatment, we release tension and clear blockages, allowing energy to flow freely. It’s an experience of coming back to yourself—to your body’s needs, to your breath, and to your natural state of balance.
I’ve witnessed this practice guide people through moments of emotional release, and mental clutter. It’s not about fixing anything; it’s about helping you reconnect with the flow that’s already within you. Zenthai Shiatsu is a way of supporting your body’s innate ability to restore balance and presence.
Yoga: A Journey of Mindfulness and Movement
Yoga has always been a powerful tool for me—not only for physical strength but for mental clarity and connection. Through both Vinyasa and Hatha Yoga, I’ve discovered how movement can be a form of meditation, a way to connect with our breath, and allow space for presence.
Yoga helps me find stillness in motion, reminding me that balance is not something we search for but something we create. Every practice, no matter how simple or complex, is a conversation with my body, an invitation to listen, and a reminder that I am enough in the present moment.
When I step onto the mat, it’s not about achieving ‘perfection’ in a pose. It’s coming back to the breath, returning to my body, and honouring where I am today. Through yoga, I’ve found a deeper sense of connection to myself and to the world around me, and it’s a practice I cherish. Whether it’s grounding after a busy day or opening my heart space for self-compassion, yoga complements my other practices by helping me tap into the energy of presence and stillness.
AKYN: A Journey Toward Connection and Balance
At AKYN, I aim to guide you back to your natural state of balance, connection, and presence. Through Elemental Herbalism, Zenthai Shiatsu, and Yoga, I offer tools to help you reconnect with yourself and the earth. These practices are not separate; they weave together to create a holistic experience of wellness that nurtures every aspect of who you are.
Each offering—whether it’s a tincture, a nurturing Zenthai Massage session, or a mindful yoga practice—is created with the intention of supporting you in your journey towards vibrant vitality. Through these practices, I hope to help you cultivate a deeper connection to the earth, to your own body, and to the rhythm that flows within you.
I am so grateful that you’re here, exploring these offerings with me. This journey toward connection, balance, and presence is foundational in my life, and I look forward to assisting you on your own path in whichever way it looks. Whether it’s through an offering, sharing a cup of herbal tea in person, you adding a few drops of a tincture I’ve made to your tea, sharing movement on the mat, or sparking a moment of insight through the words I’ve shared with you—each step along the way is an honour.
Let’s continue to support each other in our collective growth.
With love,
Cass
